Equipment

Welcome to my equipment page! Here, I’ve put together a list of the tools, gear, and gadgets I use, love, and recommend. From essential design and camera equipment I rely on daily to those small, incredibly handy items I wish someone had told me about years ago—it’s all here.

If it’s on this list, it’s because I either use it, have it on my wish list, or know someone who swears by it.

A quick note: Each item links (in a new window) to Amazon UK, and these are affiliate links. That means I earn a small commission if you purchase through them—at no extra cost to you. It’s a simple way to support me and my work.

Thank you so much for your support—it truly means a lot!

Hand Tools & Equipment

If you’ve landed here from my YouTube channel, welcome! If not, feel free to check it out BigRedJ YouTube where I document the journey of building my garden studio/workshop.

Below, I’ve put together a list of tools I’ve found especially useful and budget-friendly for home builds. These are practical, reliable tools that have made a big difference in my projects.

Camera / Recording Gear

Here, you’ll find everything related to my main camera setup - cameras, stands, tripods, and more.

For example, the K&F Lightstands are an absolute favorite of mine. I often use them to hold my action camera -they’re much taller than a typical tripod and provide excellent stability indoors our out.

Computers & Storage

I don’t use the very latest computers, though I’d love to someday! That said, having reliable storage and capable equipment is a must for my work.

My main tool is a 2024 iPad Pro 13 paired with the Apple Pencil v2. It’s hands down one of the best tools for editing and creative work.

For example, the Lexar Professional Go Portable SSD with HUB 2TB is a fantastic solution for editing on the iPad Pro. It combines storage and power in one compact hub, with room to connect an external microphone, a perfect all in one tool for on the go editing.

However, there are some tasks an iPad just can’t handle, which is where my trusty old 2016 MacBook Pro steps in to fill the gaps.
